Health and Safety Legislation
What is the Health and Safety legislation?
A company has a legal obligation to care for visitors coming on to its premises as best as is reasonably practicable.
1. A company must discuss and plan emergency procedure with any visitor that has special needs.
2. A list of all visitors must be provided to emergency personnel (Fire service etc.) in the case of a fire or emergency
3. Visitors need to be informed of company specific Health & Safety procedures and what to do in the case of a fire or emergency.
How will eVisitor help comply with this legislation?
All visitor details are entered in to the eVisitor software, details such as name, company, staff to visit, vehicle registration and period of visit and eVisitor highlights (in the form of a tick-box) the requirement for any special needs the visitor may have, satisfying point 1 above.
Once the details have been recorded the visitor is entered on to the ‘roll-call’ list for printing in an emergency, satisfying point 2 above.
A visitor pass is printed after entering the visitor details; this contains pre-printed company specific Health & Safety/ emergency procedure information that the visitor must be made aware of, satisfying point 3 above.
